Position Title: Lead Product & Application Architect

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Principal Architect

Location: Chennai, India

POSITION SUMMARY

The UI Architect brings extensive experience developing modern software solutions. As a UI Architect you need to understand how software works, but it's more important you understand how people work. This role bridges the worlds of user-centered design and software development, helping to ensure the user interface is developed correctly. This means you understand the complexity of the application behind the interface and what's involved in implementing it. Working with the design team, the UI Architect plans and maps out the design the team will be developing. The UI Architect has a deep appreciation of design with strong knowledge of modern product development processes and best practices

The UI Architect will partner with other architects and technology decision-makers to guide overall direction of the user interface layer of the products and will work closely with Technical Leads, Application Architects, Software Developers and Management in a highly collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Design modular, UI framework and API interfaces
  • Design entire technical architecture of UI framework along with pluggable modules
  • Ensure to guide process and technology adoption to assure apt QA testing of UI
  • Ensure the needs as well as look at disparate technologies existing in use through engagement, plus drive towards convergence
  • Engage with larger UXE practice to adapt components, designs and practices, allowing for consistency, re-use and efficiency
  • Act as a strong advocate for user-centered design
  • Document standards and ensure they are effectively implemented by the development teams and understood by technology partners
  • Collaborate closely with UX design and software development
  • Recommend processes, services, software, and other tools to support business objectives pertinent to user interfaces as well as infrastructure technologies
  • Support UI team consisting of software engineers and UX designers.
  • Contribute to user interface design process
  • Collaborate with product management team

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • Any Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in Software Development understanding the complete SDLC cycle, focused on building great user experiences across form factors
  • Minimum of 5+ years working as a front-end architect
  • Significant experience with front-end languages, libraries, frameworks, and CI/CD processes
  • Strong knowledge of Angular / React / Vue / Svelte along with TypeScript
  • Advanced knowledge of build systems such as Grunt/Gulp/ etc, including Linting, Compiling, Minifying, etc

Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
  • Proven track record of providing thought leadership in the area of user interface design and development
  • Work closely with customers, product management, designers and usability experts to develop a compelling user experience
  • Good communications skills and a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Effective Time Management skills
  • Good Leadership skills with proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies
