Overview
The salary range for this classification is $16.85 - $23.64 per hour, this position is budgeted at $17.00/ph. and is non-negotiable.

Under direct supervision incumbents perform simple duties which are routine and repetitive. Detailed instructions/procedures/policies and research protocols are followed and are well-defined. Ability to learn and apply basic/elementary research methods and procedures; ability to follow written and verbal directions; to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; work cooperatively with others; ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and follow basic research protocols.

Examples of research duties at this level include data collection and entry, recruiting/surveying participants in-person or over the phone, assisting with laboratory tasks, attending meetings, maintaining records and statistics.

This is an entry-level position for incumbents who have little to no experience working in a research environment.

• Lab Research/Bench Work 70%
• Supervising/Teaching Undergraduates 10%
• Writing up experiments results for reports and publications 10%
• Outreach for diversity, equity and inclusion 5%

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications

• Must have a BS in Biology, Genetics or Microbiology with experience working in a Biology laboratory studying microbiome colonization through bacterial adherence in the intestine.
