Product Software Engineer - Machine Learning

Product impacting dual role data engineer and software engineer of data services supporting multiple business units across the organization. This is a unique opportunity for combining skills and bolstering broad-ranging career exposure with release automation, cloud resource development/deployment, advanced Spark/Python development. You will play a vital role in supporting, transforming, and leading governance of core data strategy impacting product telemetry, product business intelligence, analytics, data science ML, data warehousing, and data visualization. This dual data engineer and software development role will be instrumental in aiding Wolters Kluwer's Health and its underlying business units to support and grow existing technology project infrastructure.

In the dual role of data engineer and software engineer, you will take early ideas and build prototypes, while experimenting with advanced technologies and platforms. You should be willing to take on challenges of unknown dimensions, and work hand in hand with clinicians, customers, and data scientists to prototype and test early concepts. You will need to have very strong technical skills, deep curiosity, business acumen, and the ability to think fast and act fast.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

• The role as described will focus on Azure cloud, data pipeline resourcing, platform and integrating technologies vs. Enterprise SaaS and IaaS application systems.
• Rapidly investigate new technologies and embed them in our products.
• Develop docker images for ML models for production readiness.
• Implement big data processing pipelines and ML pipelines using Azure or AWS cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, clinicians, data scientists, and software engineers.
• Collaborate with architects to inform emerging product architecture.
• Collaborate with other technology teams to determine requirements for and integrate with existing products.
• Remain current with evolving industry trends and technologies and bring ideas forward.
• Implement and collaborate on solutions that increase the monitoring and observability of systems at scale and detect and alert on trends of information.
• Enable and implement continuous delivery and continuous integration and experience on Terraform/CloudFormation/ARM.
• Collaborate with the Development, Project Management, and Product Management teams to align projects, releases, patches, and other efforts.
• Promote and contribute to best practices and governance.
• Plan and execute tasks within an agile environment.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience.

Experience:

• Cloud experience and architecture understanding of Azure/AWS.
• 2+ years of software related experience required with exposure in Azure.
• 2+ years of experience in modern programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
• Experience in python open-source frameworks/libraries/tools such as: pandas, conda, pip etc.
• Experience in modern development frameworks such as AngularJS, React, TypeScript.
• 1+ years of experience with Relational databases and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with single-page application development and responsive web design.
• Experience building Data Pipeline/ML Pipeline/Devops Pipeline in AWS/Azure.
• Experience with API design and REST principles.
• Hands on Experience with Docker or other container technologies.
• Experience working with Linux, Windows VMs on Azure/AWS.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, BitBucket.
• Ability to define and manage projects using a variety of tools and methods. Agile, Jira and Confluence a plus.
• Demonstrate strong problem analysis, problem resolution, and decision making and judgment skills.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration skills, within function and across peer stakeholders.
• Demonstrate excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and listening), with ability to build positive working relationships with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to leverage technical know-how to find viable compromises amidst competing business needs.
• Demonstrate ability to plan and excel in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

• Healthcare experience is a plus.

• Strong affinity towards improving security at all levels of SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong affinity towards Cloud Native Computing Foundation objectives
• Able to plan and execute projects as part of a collaborative team.
