As a Principal Cloud Automation Engineer at CVS Health, you will be responsible for ensuring effective public cloud governance and developing self-service automation capabilities within our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and cloud architects, to design, implement, and maintain automated workflows and processes.

1. Build automation to support enforcement of best practices, policies, and guidelines for public cloud usage, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security requirements. Develop and implement governance frameworks for managing cloud resources, identities, access controls, and cost optimization.
2. Monitor cloud usage, analyze trends, and provide automation to help optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency. Collaborate with security teams to establish robust security measures and implement appropriate security controls within the cloud environment.
3. Design, develop, and maintain self-service automation frameworks and platforms to enable easy and efficient provisioning of cloud resources. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, streamlining workflows, and reducing manual interventions.
4. Create and maintain templates, blueprints, and automation scripts for provisioning infrastructure, applications, and services on the public cloud. Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing automation tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and agility.
5. Work closely with development teams to integrate cloud automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes. Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on cloud automation, self-service provisioning, and troubleshooting. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, developments, and best practices in cloud computing and automation.


Required Qualifications


7+ years' hands on experience in public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
- 5+ years' proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.


Preferred Qualifications


- Multiple years demonstrated understanding of cloud governance frameworks, security controls, and compliance requirements.
- Multiple years' experience with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Multiples years' familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles, and agile methodologies.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide efficient solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


Education


- Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
