Job Summary: The Lab Aide will assist students who are registered in a 100% online career training program from a third-party provider, Education to Go. The applicant will tutor students one-on-one live or via Zoom, chat, text, and/or email and must be flexible to accommodate the schedules of the students, evenings and weekends, as needed.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: The tutor will facilitate tutoring sessions with students in disciples taught in 100% online career training programs, primarily IT programs, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+; Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, Python programming, Java programming, Web Applications Developer and Web Design (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Vue.js, Sass, React, WordPress, XML, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Adobe Animate, etc.). Applicant does not need to have knowledge of all these disciplines.
The tutor will report work hours directly to Coordinator via email each pay period.
Submitting time to supervisor twice per month.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued:
Minimum Qualifications: The lab aide must have training and/or experience in any, some, or all of the above-noted training disciplines: CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+; Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, Python programming, Java programming, Web Applications Developer and Web Design (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Vue.js, Sass, React, WordPress, XML, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Adobe Animate, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications: Previous training and/or experience in CompTIA Security+ and/or other cyber security disciplines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work with online students in a virtual meeting.Quickly and efficiently coordinate tutoring sessions.Knowledge and hands-on training or experience with Security+ or other cyber security training.Knowledge of and access to additional resources to help students with course work.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
