The Executive Director of Web & Integration Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing a broad spectrum of technology infrastructure components, including middleware, web systems and integration technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a clear vision and strategy for the middleware, web and integration infrastructure landscape that aligns with organizational goals and business objectives
- Lead and mentor a team of specialized engineers, architects and IT professionals fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Recruit, hire, train and retain a high performing engineering team, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in middleware, web, and integration technologies to drive innovation and efficiency
- Oversee the architecture, design, implementation and management of middleware technologies and platforms such as ESBs, message brokers and integration middleware to ensure efficient communication and data flow across systems
- Ensure system availability, integrity, and security across all infrastructure components, adhering to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, identifying opportunities for enhancement and addressing any issues or bottlenecks.
- Drive innovation and identify opportunities for process optimization, automation and the adoption of new tools and technologies to improve middleware, web and integration efficiency and effectiveness
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and technology partners to ensure efficient delivery of engineering solutions and services
- Collaborate closely with other IT teams, business units and stakeholders to understand their infrastructure needs and provide effective solutions.
- Communication ability to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders, including presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in middleware platform engineering, infrastructure management or related roles, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership capacity
- 3+ years of cloud-based technologies (Azure, GCP), engineering frameworks and tools
- Experience leading software development teams and understanding of Infrastructure as code concepts
- Excellent critical thinking, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with senior levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in middleware, web and integration tools, technologies, and platforms including Infrastructure Machine Learning ( ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills
Education
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered
