Hours: This position will work non-traditional business hours during the academic year with a modified weekly schedule including at least two evenings a week until 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday evenings.

Hours may vary based on operational needs.

Job Description:
The Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the Engagement unit within the newly formed Student Engagement Office. The Engagement Coordinator provides pop-up, summer, and late-night programming/events for students and supports the Traditions Commission and Homecoming Court.

Comprised of four functional units (Engagement, Event and Technical Services, Leadership and Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), and Operations), the Student Engagement Office serves the Syracuse University community as a resource and information network supporting Schine and Goldstein Student Centers, registered student organizations (RSOs), non-academic events, and studentdevelopment programs centered on leadership, connection, and community.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required, masters degree in higher education, student affairs, or related preferred.


Job Specific Qualifications:
  • Experience with large scale campus programming and contract negotiations required.


Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, staff, and evaluate events on and off campus including pop-up, summer, and late-night offerings.
  • Manage schedule and logistics for programs including supervision of student staff.
  • Provide support and advisement to the Traditions Commission and Homecoming Court.
  • Create and edit vendor contracts to ensure adherence to all safety, transportation, and risk management policies.
  • Ensure all transportation is arranged through University-approved vendors in coordination with Parking and Transportation Servies.
  • Address any safety concerns as they arise including bus/transportation coordination.
  • Oversee all aspects of program and event-specific marketing including flyers, kiosks, banners, t-shirts, and other promotional items.
  • Maintain events calendar through CUSE Activities database, the University calendar, and the Orange After Dark website to promote engagement opportunities to students.
  • Maintain a strong online social media presence.
  • Serve as liaison/collaborator with other offices within the Division of the Student Experience regarding program development and volunteers.
  • Work with other offices at the University on program development and implementation such as Risk Management, Public Safety, Parking and Transportation Services, Food Services, Disbursements, Purchasing, Box Office, and the Comptrollers Office.
  • Coordinate assessment of events and utilize data to inform future programming.
  • Manage SUID scanning process and ticket collection as well as post-event evaluations.
