UCLA seeks a committed, engaging leader for our LGBTQ Campus Resource Center. This vital role at UCLA engages and encourages the campus in building a fully equitable community and provides programming that develops and empowers agents of social justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. The director provides expertise and leadership for UCLA on building, maintaining, and promoting an inclusive campus environment for LGBTQ+ people and allies. The director also provides overall administrative, operational, programming, and fiscal direction for the LGBTQ CRC.

The Director oversees a comprehensive range of education and advocacy services supporting intersectional identity development as well as fostering unity, wellness, and an open, safe, and inclusive environment for UCLA's LGBTQ+ community. Through the work of the Center, the Director endeavors to support community members of all sexual and gender identities and serve the entire UCLA community: undergraduate students, graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The new director will work to cultivate positive relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders while developing and executing fundraising strategies to secure financial support.

About the Center https://lgbtq.ucla.edu/ The UCLA Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Campus Resource Center is aligned under the Division of Campus Life in Student Affairs and supports students and employees of all genders and sexual and romantic orientations through community-building events, resources, counseling, outreach, training, consultation, and advocacy. The Center has proudly been serving the UCLA community for over 25 years. We approach our work through holistic, intersectional, and social justice frameworks that honor and empower individuals at their many identities and lived experiences including but not limited to race, ethnicity, immigration status, ability, religion, and class.

About the Job:
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Campus Life, the Director assumes direct responsibility for the LGBTQ Campus Resource Center and serves a vital, pivotal role in the administration of the Center and the development of its programs, policies, and practices. The Director oversees supervision of professional staff, development and fundraising for the Center, campus climate and policy initiatives regarding LGBTQ+ inclusion, and relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, the Director provides support, education, and advocacy to the UCLA campus, prospective students, UCLA families, and community partners regarding sexual and romantic orientation and gender identity issues.

Salary & Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Target Salary $118-125k annually
This position requires an in-person presence at UCLA, though could be hybrid at certain times of the year.

Degree requirement:
  • Bachelor's Degree in LGBTQIA Studies, Ethnic Studies, Cultural Studies, Women's Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience - required.
  • Master's degree in Queer Studies, Education, Student Affairs, LGBTQ Studies, Ethnic Studies or Cultural Studies, Women' Studies, Higher Ed Admin a related field - Preferred. Advanced degree required to teach in UCLA's Academic program.
