Director of Global Enrollment Strategies

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, the Director of Global Enrollment Strategies is responsible for several keys areas within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Northeastern University - including global recruitment, international student enrollment, pathway program enrollment and Northeastern University London (NU London) enrollment.

The Director of Global Enrollment is responsible for developing and implementing strategies which align with university goals and objectives, with an emphasis on increasingly the pipeline of academically talented and diverse students - in both the applicant pool and enrolling class.

The Director of Global Enrollment is data driven and will analyze internal and external data to inform strategy and educate enrollment management constituencies about industry best practices and trends. The Director serves on the Dean's leadership team and will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who exemplifies the values of the institution and strives in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across units and sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of diverse constituencies required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in international student recruitment and enrollment management in a higher education environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful global recruitment and enrollment strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with recruitment agents, counselors, and other partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, and travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Experience leading and managing teams, with a strong commitment to staff development and mentorship.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Global Recruitment
  • Develop and implement an integrated 3-campus global outreach and recruitment strategy, to attract and enroll an increasingly more talented and diverse undergraduate student community across all 3 degree-granting undergraduate campuses
  • Collaborate with Admissions Communications to develop recruitment materials.
  • Proposes and manages annual recruitment budget
  • Provides leadership for the UG Admissions team, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating performance of team members.
  • Actively involved in professional admissions membership associations


International Student Enrollment
  • Serve as Director of International Admissions for Northeastern University Boston
  • Support the Director of Admissions and the Senior Associate Director for Application Evaluation & Selection, managing the evaluation process for all international students, and all students applying from international high schools.
  • Ensure all staff are appropriately trained and able to evaluate applications from international high schools.
  • Represent Northeastern and Northeastern's Global Campus Network at recruitment events across the globe


Northeastern University London and Oakland
  • Collaborate with the NU London and Oakland Admission Leadership and Admissions Team on recruitment plans
  • Direct the evaluation and selection process for students who have applied directly to NU London, NU Oakland or who were referred to NU London from the NU Boston applicant pool.
  • Ensure all staff are appropriately trained on NU London and possess the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct outreach and evaluate applications.


Pathway Programs
  • Provide strategic oversight for all pathways into Northeastern, including N.U.in Program, London Scholars, Global Scholars Program, as well as Foundation Year and NU Immerse enrollment programs.
  • Liaise with leadership across the Global Experience Office (GEO), International Enrollment Management (IEM) and additional units within the Office of the Chancellor and Global Campus Network at Northeastern University


Recruitment Territory Management - Recruitment Travel, Customer Service, and Application Evaluation:
  • Plan, design, and implement an effective recruitment strategy for an assigned geographic area for first-year and transfer students, which include efficient and cost-effective travel management in these territories while meeting office and University expectations and priorities.
  • Meet with, counsel, and inform prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors.
  • Read and evaluate applications for the assigned travel territory.
  • Communicate with secondary school counselors regarding decisions, when appropriate.
  • Counsel applicants, families, and counselors throughout the application evaluation process.


Contribute to Positive Welfare and Environment of the Unit on the Admissions Management Team:

Serve as a member of the Admissions management team to develop, communicate, and implement office policies and procedures. Responsible for working collaboratively with managers to ensure that the team meets institutional enrollment goals. Support and contribute to the unit's positive professional environment by conducting oneself in a professional manner; demonstrating support of institutional, divisional and office policies and procedures; adhering to the managers expectation and practicing the highest levels of customer service toward all constituents (students, internal and external constituents and colleagues.)
