Associate Director - Network Academic Operations

About the Opportunity

Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Network Academic Operations will provide essential support for connecting the academic vision and operations of new and existing campus locations, with a focus on planning and implementation of teach out initiatives, delivery of thriving academic programming, and supporting the university's commitment to academic excellence.

Reporting to the Vice Provost of Network Academic Programs, the associate director will support the transition of merged institutions into the university's academic operations, policies, and procedures. This includes merger-driven curriculum planning, implementation, and management; teach out processes and timelines; communication and coordination between new and existing academic units; and supporting integration with the strategic and operational priorities of the offices of the Provost, the Chancellor, the Registrar, Enrollment Management, Education Innovation, and Global Experience.

The associate director will engage with academic support staff and students at newly merged institutions to facilitate the establishment of teach out pathways for degree completion. The role will collaborate with college advising units, and academic support staff across the network to develop and deploy operational components such as plans of study, course schedules, registration timelines, academic policy enforcement mechanisms, and academic communications plans.

The associate director will maintain detailed documentation and data related to the academic transitions of merger and mobility students, teach out operations, and relevant regulatory compliance reporting.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a master's degree in Higher Education Administration or related field and five or more years of experience in academic operations and management. The associate director will need to be detail oriented, must have a strong understanding of curriculum structure and general education requirements, and be able to collaborate across diverse academic disciplines and units. They must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with standard academic processes. They must be capable of working effectively with academic staff, undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and support teams across the University network.

Job Duties:
Curriculum Planning, Implementation, and Management:

Support timely and effective academic operational engagement with new campus locations. Help determine and deploy relevant academic programming and course offerings that are responsive to the needs of unique student cohorts and campus capacities. Ensure efficiency and accuracy in projecting appropriate amount and timing of academic offerings. Maintain a strong working knowledge of the university's academic programs and structure. (35%)

Teach out Procedures and Timelines:

Facilitate efficient, effective procedures for engaging with merger students and staff to review academic records and transcripts and produce academic transition plans. Support well-defined, high-quality pathways for degree completion that are adequately resourced and delivered across the span of teach out disciplines and timelines. Engage with new and existing academic advising teams to support successful connections with teach out students. Support academic policy application and interpretation in relation to the academic progress and performance of teach out students. (35%)

Communication and Coordination:

Support integration with academic operational systems such as Banner, CLSS, DARS, Navigate, etc. Pro-actively define essential types and timing of academic program information and procedures essential for exchange between new and existing academic units and with impacted students. Establish documentation, dashboards, and reporting methods, ensure timely report outs, and support responses to regulatory and legal compliance requests. Represent OTP as required in coordination meetings. (15%)

Strategic Priorities Integration and Implementation:

Support the integration of network and merger-driven academic operations into the academic plan and the strategic priorities of OTP, OTC, OTR, EM, and EI/GEO. Help recognize, advocate for, and develop solutions-oriented opportunities, such as expanding and diversifying impact areas related to network mobility and merger-related academic operations. (15%)
