Assistant Professor of Music
10-MONTH, TENURE TRACK POSITION

Under the direction of the Dean of Arts, Communication and Social Sciences and as a member of the Music Department, primary teaching responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Orchestra, Strings and Mariachi. Assignments may include a wide range of lecture/performance courses. Additional desirable qualifications include strong string performance and string pedagogy skills. The successful candidate will have a broad range of musical experiences in performance and Music Appreciation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Music OR Bachelor's Degree Music AND Master's Degree in Humanities, OR the equivalent, OR a valid California Community College Instructor Credential in Music.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Upon initial employment, full-time faculty members are placed on the salary schedule based upon years of experience and education. Initial salary placement for experience can range from $52,820.00-$79,477.00 per year. Faculty members are encouraged to continue their professional development through additional study qualifying them for advancement on the salary schedule. Benefits include a choice of medical plans, dental coverage, vision, sick leave and an optional tax deferred flexible benefit plan. Coverage is offered for employees and all eligible dependents.

Academic employees participate in the State Teachers' Retirement System, a defined-benefit retirement plan through the State of California.
