As a Radiologic Technology Professor, You will teach various classes in the Radiologic Technology Program preparing students to receive their associate of applied science degree and radiologic technologist license. You will participate in course development, evaluation, assessment, and academic counseling. Duties include teaching online and face-to-face lectures, laboratory instructional, developing and revising syllabi, weekly department meetings, participate in school committees, assist with accreditation projects, and maintain regular office hours to assist students with their educational needs.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Teaching
  • Prepare and teach radiologic technology classes.
  • Use a variety of teaching technologies including the use of computers and multi-media in lectures, laboratories, and distance learning environments.
  • Develop and revise syllabi and lesson plans.
  • Evaluate and upgrade curriculum on a regular basis.
  • Participate in program activities to maintain accreditation standards.
  • Provide input to the program master plan of education.
  • Monitor and evaluate student clinical competency.
  • Supervise and evaluate student progress within the radiologic technology courses.
  • Report student progress on a regular basis to the Program Coordinator.
  • Assist students in laboratory as needed.
  • Advise students on program and course requirements.
  • Maintain regular office hours and be available to provide help for students.
Professional Activity & Service to the College
  • Provide leadership and professional contributions to the department, division, and college.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward work, students, colleagues and administration.
  • Encourage community service and involvement.
  • Assess and maintain records and grades of student performance.
  • Provide input for educational material acquisition and library holdings.
  • Assist the Department Coordinator in coordination of radiologic technology education.
  • Assist the program director in program assessment.
  • Attend and participate in all faculty meetings.
  • Pursue continuing education in professional practice and instructional methodology.
  • Accept committee assignments. Accept other duties as assigned.
  • Attend new faculty orientation sessions as required.
  • Stay current on all college-required mandatory training.
  • Regular clinical site visits.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A.A.S. degree in Radiologic Technology and B.S. in health-related area is required.
  • Three years full time professional experience as a radiographer.
  • ARRT certification required. Knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic counseling.


Preferred Qualifications: M.S. degree preferred. Teaching or extensive clinical experience is preferred.
