Job Summary

This is a part time, exempt position; responsibilities include assisting head coach with all aspects of practice/game preparation, film breakdown, recruiting and retention of qualified student athletes, in-game coaching; teach individual skills and game tactics; implement all University, Department and athletic conference bylaws, policies and expectations

Goalkeeping experience is a plus.

Essential Functions:
  • Attendance at practices and games;
  • Assist in teaching sport skills- goalie individual skills and game strategy;
  • Conduct practice drills independently;
  • Assume bench coaching duties as defined by Head Coach;
  • Ability to run sport specific drills and provide technical feed back to individual athletes;
  • Excellent communication skills in teaching;
  • Provide feedback to Head Coach on game strategy;
  • Practice and game planning with Head Coach;
  • Communications: implement team goals, team expectations; provide individual and team feedback in a positive and constructive manner; ability to take initiative and act independently under the guide of Head Coach;
  • Ability record statistics during practice and games;
  • Support Head Coach in all team aspects;
  • Assist in team administration and operations where needed.


Supervision Received:
  • Reports to the Head Coach


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required and/or related work experience;
  • Driver's license required;
  • Must be willing to travel;
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends;
  • Previous coaching and playing experience required; preferably at the collegiate level.
