What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Activities & Troy and Betty Lou Mays Director of Student Foundation who will support the mission of the university by advising Student Foundation and assisting in departmental advancement objectives.

A Bachelor's degree, one year of relevant work experience, and a Christian faith are required. A Master's degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.

*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Student Foundation is a unique organization with a mission that seeks the welfare of the university, combining different institutional areas, including Admissions, Advancement, Financial Aid, and campus programming. As a staff team, we accomplish this mission by advising student leaders in the execution of various initiatives that support these diverse areas. Therefore, this role offers an inimitable opportunity to gain diverse experience.
  • Serve as Student Foundation's primary advisor by supporting the organization's student leaders, attending weekly meetings, overseeing organizational initiatives, and ensuring strategic direction coincides with Student Life objectives.
  • Coordinate with Advancement to engage alumni on philanthropic opportunities to support Baylor's mission.
  • Partner with Admissions to identify opportunities for Student Foundation members to support Admissions' efforts to recruit future Baylor classes through campus programs, prospective student lunches, college fairs, and traveling recruitment events. This position is not engaged in Admissions related travel but it does support Admissions related efforts.
  • Support Student Foundation's internal structure to equip the organization to remain relevant and effective over the coming decades.
  • Serve as primary staff planner for Bearathon, the university's annual half marathon race, and All-University Thanksgiving.
  • Administer Student Foundation's annual scholarship process.
  • Oversee all Student Foundation budgets and ensure sound fiduciary stewardship.
  • Manage the Ed Crenshaw Student Foundation Center, the organization's building.
  • Develop student leaders into stronger servant leaders through advising.
  • Collaborate to develop strategies that enhance student learning and overall experience.
  • Exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
  • Ability to comply with university policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
