Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the director, faculty, staff, and students by performing a variety of professional and administrative tasks that facilitates the day-to-day and long-term operations in the School of Social Work at the in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. The work requires the use of considerable independent judgment and discretion in support of the work efforts in the School of Social Work and Falk College. This position requires frequent collaboration with other departments and may be asked to take on tasks in support of academic programming, projects, or initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. A minimum of five years of relevant experience and considerable knowledge of University organization, policies, and procedures, and cost accounting, budgeting and personnel systems is desirable.
  • Must demonstrate professional and emotional maturity and flexibility. Ability to work independently. Multi-task and maintain mature judgment, and confidentiality. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills and be familiar with electronic communications and database management. The processes in this position require foresight and very close attention to detail and deadlines.


Job Specific Qualifications:
Knowledge of PeopleSoft/Hyperion, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Teams), Adobe, Zoom and Blackboard. Ability to work independently and with a high volume of work. Knowledge of and familiarity with the Universitys class scheduling and curriculum processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the School of Social Work Director and faculty. Including correspondences, organizing, planning, and implementing all SWK functions.
  • Independently manages and oversees the daily operations of the department to maintain a positive and professional atmosphere. Independently problem solves as needs arise.
  • Review/reconciliation of monthly departmental expenses, budget matters and procurement card transactions.
  • Assists Department Chair and directors for the undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Knowledgeable regarding academic and administrative degree programs.
