The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is inviting applications for a 12-month faculty position. This faculty position will support the teaching and administrative needs of the educational programs in the division of medical laboratory sciences.

Primary responsibilities will be in teaching core didactic and laboratory coursework for a well-established and robust NAACLS-accredited Bachelor of Science program in Medical Laboratory Science as well as support of student rotations in our state-of-the-art Advanced Practice Laboratory (APL). Additional teaching responsibilities may include support of other health-related programs in the candidate's area of expertise. Administrative responsibilities in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Division will also be assigned commensurate with prior experience and faculty interest.

The successful candidate must be ASCP certified as a Scientist, possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field, have a minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory bench-level experience, and have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with MLS certification, those who have college or clinical teaching experience, demonstrated scholarly productivity and a record of active participation in professional societies related to laboratory medicine. Individuals with clinical microbiology experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and accomplishments.
