The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach/Head Women's Basketball Strength Coach is responsible for assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports in the daily operations of the strength program at the University of Colorado! Working in a team-oriented environment, the position will develop training programs for student-athletes to improve strength and conditioning and prevent/rehabilitate sports-related injuries in a safe learning environment. The position communicates regularly with other strength staff, sports coaches, athletic trainers, sports scientists, and other athletic department personnel.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference, and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Direct the speed, strength, and conditioning programs for Women's Basketball and Golf including:
- Develop, implement, and supervise year-round strength, agility, speed, and conditioning training programs for the sports assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
- Develop programming that enables student-athletes to reach their physical potential in their sport. Programs will be developed and administered by drawing on knowledge of the various sports and associated exercises, evaluating current physical conditioning, tailoring strength programs to specific needs, demonstrating proper exercise performance, and correcting mistakes.
- Assist in on-campus recruiting and team-building activities as assigned by Head Coaches and Director of Olympic Strength and Conditioning.
- Assist with athlete nutrition by implementing pre and post-practice hydration and fueling.
- This position should reduce the likelihood of sports-related injuries or the aggravation of such injuries during practice sessions and scheduled contests by being knowledgeable of the injuries sustained in the sport and proper prevention methods, directing appropriate pre-training sessions and pre-contest preparations and warm-ups, and working with qualified sports medicine personnel or athletic trainers during all training sessions and contests.
Use performance technologies to monitor workloads, assess programs, evaluate student-athlete development, and make data-informed decisions.
- Assist with the collection, implementation, and review of performance-related data using the department's Athlete Management System.
Assist with coordinating, maintaining, and staffing strength and conditioning facilities while also contributing to intern professional development.
- Support the evaluation and purchasing of equipment; and help organize and schedule weight room training sessions for various athletic programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning.

- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays for practices, recruiting, and competitions.
- This role will require team travel.
- This position is working in-person.

- The salary range is $88,400-101,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or related field from an accredited institution. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
- 5 years of strength and conditioning coaching experience, either at the collegiate or professional level.
- Current certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
What You Will Need
- Proven knowledge of strength and conditioning program design, including sport-specific training, speed development, and injury prevention strategies.
- Proven track record to instruct and supervise student-athletes in proper lifting techniques and safe use of equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with.
