Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Oversee daily operations and supervises the daily work assignments of custodial services on assigned campus and/or locations. Conducts custodial training and ensures effective cleaning standards are consistently met. Monitors employee safety and all work-related activities. May be required to work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses or other University locations as needed. Ensures adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment to carry out custodial work assignments. Conducts routine custodial inspections and consolidates daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspection reports for review with leadership.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as the primary customer service point of contact for all custodial needs across assigned campuses and/or locations
2. Supervises custodial staff members as required, ensuring proper work allocation, training, coaching, performance management, and adherence to established policies and procedures
3. Works extensively in campus buildings to support daily custodial operations, maintains cleaning standards, and addresses issues promptly
4. Develops and implements custodial plans, strategies, and quality assurance programs to meet departmental missions, performance expectations, and safety standards
5. Coordinates and oversees custodial support for special events, ensuring appropriate staffing for weekdays, weekends, and high-priority needs
6. Manages all campus floor care projects, ensuring proper methods, quality, and timely completion
7. Monitors and follows up on work orders across assigned areas to ensure accuracy and timely resolution
8. Oversees and evaluates contract cleaning vendors to ensure compliance with performance standards and University expectations
9. Resolves customer concerns professionally and maintains communication with building occupants to ensure satisfaction
10. Maintains and monitors cleaning supply and equipment inventories to ensure availability across all assigned locations
11. Conducts regular inspections, identifies deficiencies, issues corrective actions, and reports facility conditions requiring repair and follows up to verify completion according to set standards
12. Establishes and maintains recordkeeping systems, documentation, and operational processes for custodial services
13. Administers the operating budget, including procurement, invoice verification, and cost-effective resource management
14. Provides administrative, technical, and customer service training to departmental employees and ensure ongoing staff development
15. Applies University and departmental policies consistently, including the use of progressive discipline when necessary
16. Fosters a cooperative, team-oriented, and high-performance work environment that promotes productivity, quality, and employee engagement

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Five (5) years of experience managing custodial services and cleaning operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Experience in management or supervision within custodial services
Previous experience in staff training and development

Proposed Salary

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
