Job Summary
The Office of Admissions is seeking an Associate Director of Admissions for Outreach, Access, and Community Engagement. This position will focus on the targeted recruitment of students historically underrepresented in the college process. Under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Admissions, this person will play a vital role within the recruitment team, providing strategic leadership and oversight of recruitment initiatives to support the institutional enrollment goals. This role directs a comprehensive outreach strategy across local, regional, and national markets, manages a team of admissions counselors, and ensures the execution of data-informed recruitment plans. The Associate Director collaborates with campus partners, oversees access and community engagement event execution, and monitors key performance indicators to enhance prospective student engagement and yield outcomes. This position serves plays a critical role within the Office of Admissions.
Responsibilities
- Develop recruitment and communication strategies for underrepresented students that integrate with the overall recruitment and communication plan.
- Engage with internal and external community organizations that support the University's recruitment strategy.
- Develop relationships with community-based organizations and high school counselors in Utah and across the country as we expand our recruitment efforts.
- Collaborate with relevant campus partners to engage in strategic outreach for student support and success.
- Create a strategic yield program that supports the University's overall enrollment goals.
- Develop a series of trainings that educate the Office of Admission about best practices for access, outreach, and community engagement.
- Plan and execute events for students from traditionally underrepresented populations.
- Coordinate group visits to campus for community partners.
- Strong mentorship and supervision background.
- This position will manage entry-level admissions counselors.
- Use data effectively in order to create a strategic recruitment plan for various University initiatives.
- Extensive presentation experience required.
- Manage a relevant recruitment territory, providing impressive customer service to a variety of various student populations.
- Represent the University at national conferences.
- Experience utilizing sponsorships in community engagement to increase university presence and awareness.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master's degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
- Bachelor or Master's degree in higher education or counseling is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish (preference only, not required).

Work Schedule Summary: Full-time, typically 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)This is an exempt position, so schedule may periodically change and require working evenings, weekends, as well as some travel.
