Job Description
The Department of History and Philosophy at the University of Tennessee at Martin invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in the fields of Public History and Native American History. Expected start date for the position will be August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach upper division courses in Public History and Native American History, the history methods course, as well as lower division US survey classes. They will create and oversee a Public History emphasis within the history major and a public history internship program. They will contribute to scholarship in their research field, in areas of potential interest that include but are not limited to: Native peoples of the Southeast, Great Lakes and Ohio River Valley; settler colonialism; and Black/Indigenous relations. They will contribute to departmental and university service, which includes, but is not limited to, advising History majors.
Qualifications
Qualifications: PhD in History required with research fields in Public History and Native American History
