The Center for Academic Advising & Retention (CAAR) is seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for a Student Advisor Level 1. This recruitment has two openings.

As a Student Advisor Level 1, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success and personal development of students at Eastern Washington University. You will work closely with students to provide guidance on course selection, academic planning, and career exploration, ultimately helping them achieve their educational and professional goals. Student Advisors collaborate with students and campus partners to support students persistence, degree completion, and connections to EWU. Professional advisors foster student growth and independence through an appreciative inquiry and developmental advising model. Professional advisors build and maintain strong relationships with advisees to provide holistic and proactive wraparound services to all students based on their individual needs. This position requires a passion for student success, strong communication skills, and a dedication to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The salary for this position is $40,019 (minimum) up to $48,027. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. All new employees must comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.

After starting employment, employees will complete the required training via Canvas. Workplace Belonging training will be available on October 1st and should be completed by December 31st, 2025.
