Student Program Manager

Student Program Manager
Job Summary
The Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships (ONCS) within the Honors College at the University of Utah is seeking a motivated Student Program Manager. This role is divided between assisting with ONCS operations and advising and supporting Honors College student success. This hybrid position offers a dynamic opportunity to support exceptional students across all majors and disciplines in achieving academic and post-graduate success.
ONCS, housed within the Honors College, assists undergraduate and graduate students and alumni from all campus areas to compete for nationally competitive scholarships (NCS), highly prestigious external scholarships funded by organizations independent of the University of Utah. Applicants compete on a national and sometimes international basis to complete postgraduate study, conduct research, gain language skills or leadership training, or teach English abroad.
The Honors College recruits, teaches, and supports high-achieving, highly motivated students from all majors. Honors College students pursue the highest undergraduate degree offered by the University of Utah - the Honors Baccalaureate - through a curriculum that emphasizes critical-thinking, persuasive communication and interdisciplinary exploration.
This Student Program Manager will perform a variety of duties to support ONCS operations, NCS success and honors degree completion. This Student Program Manager will contribute to ONCS' overall outreach efforts, organizing and participating in programming to raise awareness about NCS across the university. This includes organizing and executing the annual scholarship reception for all NCS applicants and coordinating the NCS endorsement process. They will provide guidance to NCS applicants across campus through communication, advising, application review, and interview preparation.
In addition to ONCS operations and advising duties, this Student Program Manager will also advise Honors College students and assess individual needs to support honors degree completion, with a secondary reporting line to Honors College advising. They will collaborate with academic units across campus to create honors academic plans for students.
As a member in a multi-function unit, this position requires flexibility and initiative to balance multiple priorities. The Student Program Manager should possess strong organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate across ONCS, the Honors College, and the broader University. They should be able to successfully work both independently and as part of a larger team. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the University's academically talented students and to support the academic mission of the University.
