Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking a WARM Program Assistant Director to support and promote the Wasatch Area Resort Management (WARM) program. This role focuses on marketing the program to prospective students, coordinating administrative operations, and planning events that foster student engagement and strengthen relationships with industry leaders. The Assistant Director also plays a key role in outreach efforts with local industry partners and participates in recruiting events at the Wasatch Campus and Salt Lake City. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to help grow a dynamic program, connect students with real-world opportunities, and build meaningful partnerships within Utah's thriving resort and hospitality industry.

Summary of Responsibilities


  • Contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives by assisting in identifying opportunities for process improvements and organizational growth. Support the Director in identifying and documenting trends, risks, and challenges affecting operations and making recommendations for improvement. Successfully implement program strategy through collaboration with all stakeholders including university and department administration, program industry partners, advisory board, and faculty. Track the completion of goals agreed-upon.
  • Foster strong relationships with students and industry partners, acting as a primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders through assisting students to secure housing and internships in the Heber/Park City area. Provide relevant information through email in response to inquiries about the WARM program from prospective students and industry partners. Plan and execute events to engage students, build connections with industry leaders, and support local industry outreach initiatives. Organize annual student orientation, social events, student and faculty travel to conferences, and advisory board meetings. Collaborate on the development and implementation of a fund-raising campaign. Advance long-term giving strategies designed to engage new donors, increase donor retention and participation, solidify stewardship plans and achieve metrics.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of day-to-day activities. Monitor and assist in managing departmental budgets and ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Leads student recruiting efforts. This includes developing strategy, collaborating with WSB Marketing team on program marketing campaigns, establishing physical presence at campus events both at UVU and other campuses in the state and region. Following-up on leads. In addition to recruiting, this position plans and leads efforts to secure resources and raise scholarship and other fundraising.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a directly related field and two years of experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling six years.

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of recruiting students and best practices for student engagement activities and retention.
  • Knowledge of planning and executing events.
  • Knowledge of methods and practices of effective leadership principles and techniques, including student mentoring.
  • Evidence of experience with business management or higher education program development.
Skills
  • Experience creating, writing, editing, and managing direct and digital cultivation and solicitation efforts for enrollment growth,
  • including direct mail, email, social media, and internet advertising.
  • Innovative, strategic thinker with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, robust attention to detail, superb organizational skills and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, cultivate and steward strong relationships with industry partners, industry leaders, alumni and friends of the institution.
