Workforce Reporting and Analytics Specialist I

Job Summary

University of Utah Human Resource Management have an opening for a Workforce Analytics Specialist I. This individual will drive workforce-related decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to departments and university leadership. This position will have a heavy emphasis on data visualization using Tableau.

Collect, aggregate, and analyze employee data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into workforce performance. Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of issues, like turnover. Use analytics and metrics to improve employment processes and provide data-driven forecasts of workforce-related costs (compensation, benefits, etc.), potential changes, risks, and viability of new employee programs. Communicate findings and insight to clients and provide workforce strategy recommendations for optimizing university performance. Provide workforce reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests across multiple VP apreas/ departments. May participate in the design and development of workforce reporting and data visualization tools.

This position will be a hybrid position working both remotely and in office. An employee hired into this role but be able to live and work in the State of Utah. They will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah Telecommuting Agreement while working remotely.

    Responsibilities
    • Drive workforce-related decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis, visualization, and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to departments and university leadership.

    • Use analytics and metrics to improve employment processes and provide data-driven forecasts of workforce-related costs (compensation, benefits, etc.), potential changes, risks, and viability of new employee programs.
    • Communicate findings and insight to clients and provide workforce strategy recommendations for optimizing university performance.
    • Provide workforce reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests across multiple VP areas/ departments.
    • May participate in the design and development of workforce reporting and data visualization tools. Requires basic skill set and proficiency. Conducts work assignments as directed.

    Minimum Qualifications
    EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
    Workforce Reporting and Analytics Specialist, I: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.



    Preferences
    Strong data visualization experience (at least two years of full time work or certificate) in Tableau and Excel.
