Tuition Classification Specialists maintain process and audit workflows and perform a variety of coordinating functions within the Office of the Registrar that support the University's mission. A primary function of our office is supporting student success by creating, maintaining, and preserving accurate student records.

Tuition Classification Specialists are also responsible for providing effective customer service to students, departments, and other university stakeholders. This involves prompt and accurate responses to in-person, email, or phone inquiries and requests, and providing training on registration, grading, and curriculum issues, and other duties as assigned.

Tuition Classification Specialist

In general, Tuition Classification Specialists process forms (electronic and paper) that include student registration forms, transcripts, enrollment and degree verification requests, and grade changes. This particular position will focus on processing:
  • Determining residency classification based on student-submitted information from emails, uploaded documents in OnBase, and on paper,
  • Gathering required documentation from petitioners while providing excellent customer service,
  • Providing options and guidance to students when petitions cannot be approved,
  • Completing compliance processes for State Authorization and licensure programs,
  • Processing Change of Record Forms,
  • Processing Enrollment Verifications,
  • Validating and updating data in student records based on reports of missing data,
  • Training to provide backup support for other Records & Registration processes,
  • Assisting Lynx Central with processing questions, and
  • Answering emails received in the Registrar's Office Residency email box.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $44,000 - $45,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

  • Experience working in an office setting.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience with databases and data entry.
  • Experience working with a Student Information System.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service skills.

  • Skill in data entry with minimal errors and ability to review own work for accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and embracing continuous improvement.

Conditions of Employment
  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required. The Registrar's Office supports Commencement activities two Saturdays per year.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, up to two days per week, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks requiring high collaboration.
