Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for afull-time Chief Technology Officer & Director of Technology Infrastructure.

Job Description:

The Chief Technology Office & Director of Technology Infrastructure drives the visioning, planning and execution of technology infrastructure initiatives. Leads the team that plans, manages and develops all network and server infrastructure for Franklin & Marshall College with a chief focus placed upon assuring College network infrastructure and systems are highly available and responsive. Serves as a lead for ITS both within ITS and with the College's senior staff in the absence of the VP for IT.

Essential Functions:

Establish and maintain F&M's technical vision and lead all aspects of the College's technical infrastructure development. This includes working closely with other IT directors to assure that infrastructure is supporting their needs, and delivering on the College's expectations for cross-platform ubiquity and information security.
Articulate and lead all aspects of F&M's cloud strategy for Infrastructure, evaluating and recommending when it's appropriate to take further proactive steps in this direction.
Supervise the Technology Infrastructure Team, including but not limited to mentoring their professional development and nurturing a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. To be successful, the CTO will need to be an effective project manager.
Manage budget and expenditures related to technology infrastructure, to include reviewing and approving invoices for payment, negotiating with vendors for optimal pricing and licensing terms for new solutions.
Advise the CIO on current practices and future trends in all areas related to Technology Infrastructure and work in close partnership on initiatives such as the 10-year infrastructure investment plan.
Co-chair the College's Infrastructure Committee. Serve on the College's AdminIT Committee, the Security Initiatives Team and as a driver for prioritizing and advancing information security-related initiatives that are most relevant for IT services at F&M. Serve, along with other directors in ITS, as a member of the department's leadership team to include periodically presenting to the F&MBoard of Trustees.
Conduct research and formal investigation of leading edge technologies in the IT realm.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
4-7 years of experience in the IT field.
Experience with IT project management.
Experience with Google domain administration, network management tools, IT monitoring tools.
Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
7-10 years of experience in the IT Field.
Higher Education IT field experience.
