About the Opportunity
Position Summary:
Northeastern University's Institute for Experiential Robotics--has established a Research Scientist position dealing with cutting edge research in wireless technologies and Robotics. The Research Scientist will conduct applied research, write briefs, and project manage in connection with projects for collaborating institutions, working in collaboration with other fellows.
Qualifications:
Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in robotics, or related engineering and science disciplines; must have progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and execute research.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills are essential, as are time-management and organizational skills. Good written and verbal communication skills and organizational talents are expected. Proposal preparations for sponsored research funding, research experience involving experiments, and project management experience are pluses.
Applicants should send a letter of application addressing the selection criteria and indicating how their background and expertise fit with the specific needs of the Institute, a curriculum vitae, one print of prior scientific publications, and the names and contact information of 3-5 references through the website. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Performs basic or applied research in an area of considerable scope and complexity.
- Plans independent research and analyzes and publishes the results.
- Assists with preparing grant proposals.
- Provides functional and administrative supervision over supporting research staff and transfers technical and statistical expertise.
- Attends meetings and may present research
- Other assignments as deemed necessary.
