VISITING FACULTY - The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bucknell University seeks applicants for two, one-year visiting assistant professor positions starting in August 2013. These positions are available as a result of sabbatical leave replacements. Candidates with expertise in structural engineering or transportation engineering (with ability to teach mechanics-related courses) are encouraged to apply. An earned doctorate at the time of appointment in Civil Engineering is preferred. An undergraduate civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program and professional/teaching experience is desirable. The successful candidates must have the ability to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instruction. Candidates with an interest in and potential for teaching and interacting effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives are particularly encouraged to apply. University enrollment is approximately 3400 undergraduate students and 150 masters-level graduate students. The Department offers BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. The university is located in Lewisburg on a 450-acre campus in central Pennsylvania's Susquehanna River Valley. New York City, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia are each within a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from Lewisburg.
