Facilities Electrical Reliability Engineer primarily responsible for the management of the Reliability Program within the department, including ownership of the policies, procedures required to comply with our department mission.
Primarily, the position requires a detailed knowledge of Reliability and Program Management using relevant key performance indicators to ensure compliance with best known practices and identify weakness within the physical power distribution system and the organizational methods used in its sustaining operation.
The candidate is expected to have sufficient knowledge of industry Reliability Management tools and practices, including but not limited to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM2), Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, Spare Parts and Obsolescence Management, etc.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the continued development of and subsequent ownership of the processes and procedures required to govern highly-reliable operation and health of electrical distribution systems.
- Implement and spread best practices throughout the department using inherent knowledge, the tracking of industry trends, knowledge gained through benchmarking, and the development of the organization.
- Ensure departmental compliance with Infra Reliability Policies through auditing of our existing procedures and alignment of both the documentation and the organization.
- Attendance in Infra Reliability Management Team meetings to assist in Infra-level reliability initiatives and reporting of department reliability performance and improvements.
- Continued development of department Reliability KPIs (e.g. OEE, PM/BM ratio, MTBF, MTTF and MTTR) to better measure performance and compliance to our mission. Development of new methods to simplify data collection and analysis for KPIs and reporting through management dashboards.
- Drive FMEA program for proactive identification of equipment failures and continual improvement of system reliability.
- Assist in design phase of new equipment to ensure Design for Maintainability.
- Optimize PM program(s) by implementing GEMS, FBL and other related programs.
- Lead equipment failure analysis using 8D methodology with focus on Root Cause Analysis techniques (5 why, Fishbone, etc.) and Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Optimize reliability testing procedures and scheduling based on available resource pool and in alignment with maintenance activities of other departments.
- Ensure reduction of life-cycle cost and manage spare parts / obsolescence for critical assets.
- SAS is a 24x7x365 factory that cannot suffer utility interruptions to the process equipment. This position is expected to understand and apply standard principles for reliability-centered maintenance to maximize system-level reliability and minimize unplanned loss of electrical power / redundancy.
- Workdays & Hours: M-F 1st Shift.
Skills and Qualifications
- BS degree from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or related technical field (Master's in technical field a plus).
- Minimum 4 years' experience performing Reliability Engineering/Management as primary job responsibility. Semiconductor fab experience preferred.
- Reliability certifications such as CRE (ASQ), CMRP (EPRA), etc a plus.
- Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of industrial power distribution systems (design and operation).
- Strong creative problem solving skills, leadership potential, and a desire to contribute to team through direct involvement in monitoring work performance, in addition to the ownership of overall department result.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis including Pivot Tables, data source linking through VLOOKUP, and simple script creation.
- Experience with Failure Modes & Affects Analysis and System reliability calculation.
- Experience with Reliability KPIs and Reliability Centered Maintenance preferred.
- Experience with auditing of documentation using internal policies and industry standards.
- Experience with auditing of work performance using internal procedures and subject matter expert teams.
- Experience with effectively representing a team/entity during audits by external organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills are required to effectively communicate technical content to various organizations.
