Role and Responsibilities
The GCS Project Engineer role is a technical position dedicated to comprehensive project management of GCS (Gas & Chemical Systems) capital projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities to include the following:
- Identify process and equipment improvements.
- Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects.
- Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Ensuring ideal execution of projects in alignment with safety-first priorities of GCS and SAS.
- Forecasting, prioritizing, and planning future capital projects on an annual basis.
- Create or modify equipment and process specifications.
- Daily task management and supervision of contractors/vendors during project execution.
- Systematically verify new equipment meets SAS specifications by leading Factory Acceptance Testing, startup & commissioning, and equipment qualification
- Represent GCS department at SAS design review meetings for capital projects.
- Maintain project schedule, reports and presentations to site leadership.
- The candidate will need to be able to work effectively with multiple teams - both internal and external - to successfully complete projects as defined during capital justification.
Skills and Qualifications
- BS degree in electrical, computer, mechanical or chemical engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years direct project management related to gas and/or chemical supply systems.
- Strong technical background - with particular ability to coordinate and lead multiple teams - including contracted/vendors - towards ideal performance in equipment installation and removal/demolition.
- Familiarity with IFC, NFPA, and IBC codes associated with industrial building design is preferred
- Semiconductor facility design experience is preferred.
- AutoCAD proficiency.
- Process and equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Outstanding time management.
