We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in New Holland, PA. In this role, you will be the driving force in the implementation and refinement of a comprehensive health and safety process at the plant level and lead continuous improvements in safety performance.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement programs / procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce occupational hazards associated with plant operations
- Develop, implement and influence a proactive and engaged safety culture at the plant that is consistent World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and OHSAS 18001
- Develop, conduct and coordinate safety training and communication programs
- Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and follow-up on corrective actions
- Lead the plant's WCM Safety Pillar Team and participate in functional area safety team improvements
- Form a strong working relationship with the Environmental Specialist to ensure a consistent approach to safety and environmental matters including; compliance, WCM, ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001
- Perform risk analysis and safety inspections
- Track and report metrics indicative of safety performance
- Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling and exposure evaluations, as required
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety or Industrial Health or other technical discipline
- 6 or more years of work experience to include knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations and programming including hazard communication, hearing conservation, confined space, lockout / tagout, emergency response, powered industrial trucks, machine guarding, record-keeping, PPE, and/or ergonomics as well as experience with OHSAS 18001
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a fast- paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster employee engagement and effect change
- Project management skills
- Proven track record of collaboration with hourly employees through senior leadership
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
- Proficient in use of MS Office applications
- Participate on regional EHS audit teams, as needed
