Responsibilities
The Test Engineer will be part of engineering evaluation team to approve release of production intent display software & hardware to Product Validation (PV) teams for Agriculture equipment. This position will act as the interface between Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Marketing and External PV teams for creating, executing, reporting and approving the engineering test plans & software. You will also ensure high quality demands on the execution, delivery and coordination of several concurrent projects
- Writing and maintaining detailed test plans for various aspects and features of precision farming and auto guidance systems.
- Acting as an interface between Systems Engineers, Software Engineers and External Suppliers/Partners for creating test plans and clarifying requirements.
- Assist test engineers in projects that require the expertise of an experienced / senior test engineer.
- Oversee the documentation of test results and describe quality issues to other precision farming team members.
- Creating and executing automatic regression tests, analyzing test results and driving issues to resolution.
- Planning and performing development testing of various systems on simulators and vehicles. Assist & participate in the collection of data, modification of parameters and algorithms and analysis of data.
- Work with systems & software teams in solving problems and writing reports.
- 'Hands on' tasks such as possibly changing vehicle components (sensors, controllers, etc.) and 'in-vehicle' troubleshooting.
- Documentation and tracking of defects using commercial software tools.
- Use various problem solving techniques to help in the analysis of issues and help in the decision making to pick solutions.
This role pays-$97,000-$139,000((Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Electrical, Computer or Agriculture Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a software testing environment for industrial products in a related field.
- Experience with testing GUI / front end or Android applications
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Prefered:
- Prior experience in the automotive industry, agricultural industry, heavy duty industry
- Experience with web-based GUI testing, using newest and emerging technologies.
- Expert in black box test methodologies.
- Experience in at least one Android automated / GUI Test Automation Tool such as: Ranorex, Selenium, Monkey or similar
- Used 7 step problem solving methods in multiple situations.
- A good understanding of vehicle control systems operation, including electronic controls and software, GPS, hydraulic valves, application control
- Experience creating test plans detailing a systematic approach to testing a system such as a machine or software.
- Experience with vehicle bus systems such as CAN and RS-232.
- Experience in a software testing environment writing automated scripts (python, shell, Perl, bash, or similar) writing creating automated test models and procedures or or 1 year of work experience in a programming environment that included software testing responsibilities.
