The Manager, Network Infrastructure will report to the Director, Network Services who serves as the senior network leader for information technology at UCSF. ÂThe Manager, Network Infrastructure is responsible for the physical design, documentation, and implementation of network infrastructure including indoor and outdoor cable plant, distributed antenna system (DAS), circuit management and IT infrastructure for facilities construction.Ensures IT meets both the current and future network service needs of a broad range of customers, partners, and key stakeholders in administrative and academic units. Guides a team of engineers to drive innovative solutions, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class service to UCSF. Directs strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals, prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization. Ensures flexible, efficient, and reliable systems able to adjust to future demands consistent with the health and campus growth and vision.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 5-7 years of experience managing an information technology organization and project management associated with IT infrastructure delivery
- Experienced in leading change management activities and managing their impact across the unit or department thorough knowledge data network systems, wired and wireless, cable plant, and facilities design
- Thorough knowledge of technical concepts and basic operating principles of data communications, network hardware, and vendor IT products, and software
- Must have knowledge of operating policies and procedures and the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines
- Requires in-depth knowledge of own area of functional responsibility, with a broad knowledge of the IT organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to individuals and groups with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication
- Strong knowledge and understanding of service delivery principles, project management, and IT infrastructure design practices and requirements
- Demonstrated skill in managing technical staff skilled in network infrastructure design and installation
Preferred Qualifications :
- Advanced degree preferred
- Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Telecommunications Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Experience in the management of ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, to include the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies
