Description
Glendale Community College seeks a leader who is dedicated to all aspects of student success and closing equity gaps, to apply for its Director of Enterprise Application Systems position. GCC seeks a true collaborator who will prioritize our students in decision-making and setting strategy for the College's information technology (IT) operations that support teaching and learning. Definition
Under executive direction, plans, directs and administers the implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and applications development for the College; manages the implementation and testing of ERP bundle updates and patches; provides technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, implementation, and support of approved ERP system designs using best practice methodologies; collaborates with campus departments to assure they are sufficiently supported in their ERP services to meet college needs; serves as a key communicator and change agent for promoting the effective development and use of the campus ERPs; serves as project manager for ERP and related application upgrades; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervision
Works under the direct supervision of the Associate Vice President for Technology and Innovation, Information Technology Services.
Supervises classified staff, temporary, and/or student employees.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are typical of those performed by employees in this classification.
- Plans, directs, and implements with staff the College's ERP systems operations and applications development.
- Manages the implementation and testing of ERP bundle updates and patches; ensures continuous operation and performance.
- Provides technical leadership in the design, development, implementation, and support of approved ERP system designs using standard methodologies; analyzes and forecasts technological needs to recommend application development and enhancements.
- Serves as project manager for ERP and related application upgrades; defines and ensures adherence to the scope of work, objectives, and timelines; directs the design, development, programming, testing, and implementation of new systems and applications and enhancements; serves as a liaison with consultants and vendors; maintains standard project documentation.
- Directs ERP activities within functional areas; addresses operating issues to optimize the performance and use of systems.
- Communicates with the campus community regarding the use and development of campus ERP; effectively promotes ongoing development and adaptation to a changing ERP environment.
- Designs for and ensures the security of ERPs and related applications and their integration with other systems; oversees the assignment of roles and permissions and development and implementation of back-up recovery and reorganization tasks.
- Establishes and facilitates effective business processes for the development and maintenance of systems and user documentation for the ERPs and related applications.
- Oversees maintenance contracts for ERPs and related applications including monitoring and managing software licenses.
- Recommends hardware and software based on an assessment of present and future system; serves as a technical resource regarding ERP implementation, functionality, and operations.
- Serves as a member of the AVP's leadership team, helping to direct the strategic development and use of technology for the college.
- Develops, implements, establishes, and maintains policies, processes, and procedures for applicable departments; monitors and evaluates operational, department, and service quality; may recommend, develop, and implement quality improvement assessment tools and/or methods with administration and/or regulatory agencies. Develops and implements short- and long-term strategies and plans, including the program review process. Recommends, monitors, and/or administers budgets for assigned areas; oversees and administers budget allocations and procurements for all assigned funds as appropriate; analyzes and reviews budgetary and financial data.
- Handles and resolves conflicts and issues and reports complaints as appropriate.
- Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural competency, and a positive work and academic environment.
- Coordinates and oversees the implementation and modification of technology.
- Supervises department employees; assigns and monitors employee's work and evaluates employee performance; trains employees; participates in employee selection.
- Directs and/or conduct surveys and special studies; maintains statistics.
- Monitors and reviews programs and/or operations for legal compliance.
- Analyzes and interprets data; prepares, reviews, and/or approves documents and reports.
- May participate and/or chair campus committees and task forces.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The education, training and experience qualifications are considered likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities to perform the above essential duties.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Seven (7) years of information technology experience with responsibility for developing, implementing, and supporting ERP systems, including at least two (2) years in a management capacity.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STANDARDS:

Additional Information
Salary
Starting salary: Step 1 $10,721 to Step 6 $13,686 per month, based on training and experience.
Salary range: Step 1 $10,721 to Step 11 $17,958 per month (including longevity steps).
