The Associate Director provides leadership for the portfolio of IT services. The Associate Director manages direct reports who lead the above service portfolios. A hands-on approach will require the Associate Director to have the technical skills to support all aspects of IBBR's IT services portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
Experience: Eight (8) years' experience in the field of information technology. Three (3) or more years of direct supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in leading IT projects of significant technical complexity involving multiple stakeholders and across technical subject areas
- Experience in supportingLINUXsystems and computer workstations in a scientific computing environment are required. Experience in developing and supporting high performance computing.
- Experience with data center management including power and cooling requirements.
- Experience with managing inter and intra building fiber optic andCATcabling.
- Demonstrated skills in interpreting customer design requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service including responding to suggestions and IT/ research needs of customers throughout the institute, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated skills in prioritizing, implementing, and managing short and long-term IT projects.
Preferences:
- Experience with the following technologies: Lenel building security, Slurm resource manager,TALLstack development, Windows Active Directory,ZFS, BeegFS, Proxmox,DRBD, Juniper JunOS, CiscoIOSandNXOS.
- Expertise in computer hardware.
