IT Device Administrator, Durham

Description of Duties:
- Device acquisition, management, and support:
- Regular procurement of, and recommendations for, computing devices and peripherals for the institution across both physical campuses and online programs.
- Asset management, inventory oversight, and responsibility for surplus.
- Imaging, deployment, updates, regular maintenance, and support for our fleet of institutionally-owned equipment.
- Windows and Apple device management (NinjaOne and Jamf Pro, respectively).
- While primarily a tier 2 and 3 level of escalated support for systems, including institutional and BYOD, and must be able to provide all tiers of support, tiers 1 through 3, for all constituents.
- Write and maintain documentation for the larger community, and carefully document internal processes and procedures.
- Assist in the IT onboarding of new NCSSM-Durham employees. Assist in account management processes for that campus.
- Manage systems and provide operational support, including systems administration and troubleshooting of software, hardware, and other issues, for school-wide applications, spanning both physical campuses, including but not limited to:
- Google Workspace
- SIS (Blackbaud)
- Microsoft (O365, Active Directory, Windows Server)
- Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
- Linux servers
- VoIP application (Dialpad)
- Videoconferencing (Zoom and Google Meet)
- Print management (PaperCut)
- Provide maintenance, perform updates, ensure quality and timely backups.
- Assist in implementation and support of the network infrastructure, in room AV infrastructure, and hardware systems on the Durham campus.
- Project management, committee work, and other IT division support and collaboration.
- Play a leading role in identifying trends and solutions, making proactive suggestions for modifications or new applications to solve existing and future problems. Subsequently lead implementation of solutions, optimizing for organizational success.
- Collaborate closely across the ITS team, and cross-train to be able to provide effective coverage as needed.
- Engage with partners across all divisions of the institution to proactively identify and resolve pain points. Participate in committee and project work for the institution as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position is flexible/hybrid and the expectation is for on-site work at least three days per week.
