Job Summary:
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Director of Marketing- Athletics.
Working closely with the Senior Associate Athletics Director - External Relations, this position will coordinate and implement the annual marketing campaign, ticket sales strategy, video board operations, live game streams, fan experience, game operations, assist special events, cheer & mascot supervision, and student worker supervision for the department of athletics.

The salary for this position is $45,000. In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • At least 1-2 years of marketing, promotions, and/or ticketing experience
  • Supervisory experience

Responsibility / Duty: Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of the annual strategic marketing plan for the department of intercollegiate athletics to include:
  • Determine goals and objectives of promotional campaigns for each sport and/or promotional activities.
  • Identify target markets and develop specific strategies for each.
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of competitors.
  • Analyze internal/external environments for the potential success of promotional activities.
  • Assign work to others in support of marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Services Director and Sports Information office staff to manage athletic department social media accounts, staffing, creative content, and video creation.
  • Direct athletic marketing campaigns in coordination with other university programs and within the framework of the universitys overall marketing plan.
  • Coordinate the development of promotional materials (season ticket collateral, schedule posters/cards, billboards, flyers, radio, social media, print).
  • Monitor and modify strategies during promotional periods.
  • Monitor departmental advertising budget and ensure expenses are appropriately balanced as it relates to marketing execution, promotions, video board, and live stream operations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and/or ineffectiveness of the campaign(s) upon completion.

Responsibility / Duty: Coordinate game day operations as it relates to game administration, fan experience, and sponsor execution:
  • Game music production (FB, VB, SOC, MBB, WBB).
  • Ball Crew responsibilities (VB, MBB, WBB).
  • n-game elements: anthem singers, color guard, ROTC canon, sponsor promotions/contests.
  • Coordinate facility signage installation with facility crew and put-up game day signage.
  • Maintain a relationship with Learfield representative(s) on marketing, signage, and promotional initiatives.
  • Oversee Reese Court scorers table operations and production of LED animations (VB, MBB, WBB).

Responsibility / Duty: Direct video board operations (Roos Field and Reese Court)
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, updates, and purchases.
  • Serve as athletic department contact for Daktronics/TriCaster.
  • Coordinate content development for in-game, promotional, fan-engagement, and video board elements.
  • Collaborate with Creative Services Director and Sports Information staff for in-studio video shoots.
  • Hire/supervise student workers to run video board operations during home events:
    • Five (5) camera/equipment operators
    • Three (3) video board operators

  • Serve as athletic department liaison for home live streams with hired freelance production company (FB, SOC, VB, MBB, WBB).

  • Collaborate with the cheer director on hiring/oversight of annual mascot tryouts for three (3) EWU students.
  • Collaborate with the cheer director on supervision of all operations including budget, suit maintenance, equipment, etc.
  • Coordinate appearances (travel, campus, community).
