About the Opportunity:
The Department of Biology at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts invites applications for a Visiting Teaching Professor position to expand our innovative undergraduate teaching initiatives over the coming years. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track faculty position to start as early as Fall 2021 with a one-year contract that may renewable for a second year. The Department of Biology is strongly interdisciplinary and administers programs in the College of Science at Northeastern University in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Behavioral Neuroscience for more than 1,200 undergraduates. Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach multiple sections of courses for undergraduates, which may include Introductory Biology, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Integrated Anatomy and Physiology, or a freshman course called Inquiries in Biological Sciences. Additional duties may involve coordination with other instructors and laboratory personnel.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date, and demonstrate excellence in the following: teaching undergraduate lecture courses, communication, collaboration and leadership. Where appropriate, candidates are should highlight prior experience working with members of underrepresented groups.


Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching excellence in either Introductory Biology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, or freshman seminars is preferred.
