UX Designer

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a UX Designer to lead designs for Applied's largest product, Applied Epic. Applied Epic is the world's most widely used agency management system, helping independent insurance agencies in the U.S., Canada, and the UK better manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, data exchange with carriers, financial accounting, reporting, business processes, and policy and benefits administration. This UX Designer will be dedicated to conducting primary user research, exploring user requirements, vetting user scenarios, sketching, wireframing, mocking, and prototyping solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a strong understanding of our users' experience through our suite of products, and explore the needs and motivations of our target users
• Coordinate and conduct both qualitative and quantitative user research, including formal Usability Testing to help us efficiently validate and iterate
• Research and recommend the best interaction designs and UX best practices to follow
• Bring product ideas to life with quick, well-reasoned wireframes, mockups, and coded prototypes
• Collaborate with the product and development teams as they implement the design into working code
• Articulate with ease the why behind your design decisions
• Identify how to best integrate usage analytics into our product that will generate data to help us track and measure the success of our designs

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB

• 2+ years of experience in UI/UX, preferably in a commercial software environment
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
• Proficient in remote user testing tools (UserZoom, UserTesting.com, etc.)
• Highly proficient in design tools, especially Figma / Figjam or Sketch.
• Proficient with user research - qualitative or quantitative.
• Experience working in an Agile software development team
