This is a grant-funded, full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week position. Continuation of this position is dependent on future funding. This posting may be used to fill similar vacancies that occur within six months of the closing date.

Summary:

This position works as part of a team of staff who provide instructional support and services to basic education and ELL (English language learners) students enrolled in the School of Academic Advancement. Coordinates all required testing activities, trainings, and process documentation.

Administers TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) Clas-E and TABE assessments. Supports enrollment and maintains student records. Travels to instructional sites as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide information to faculty, staff and students on testing requirements and materials.
  • Administer multiple assessments using standardized testing procedures to ensure test accuracy.
  • Review and analyze student test records.
  • Assist with data entry for all grant-related test information and grant related data reporting.
  • Assist with orientation, assessment, and enrollment processes.
  • Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision, and values. Complies with college policies, directives, and work rules.Engages positively with colleagues, engages in conflict directly and professionally, contributes to team discussions, collaborates, and helps colleagues, assumes the best from colleagues, provides, and accepts constructive feedback, follows through on commitments, and support final decisions that are made.
  • Other duties as defined by department, college, or officials.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Skill in communicating effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to details and logistics.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations using tact, sensitivity, candor, and directness.
  • Ability to work independently and use sound independent judgment.


Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in education, human services, Administrative assistant, or related field OR two (2) years (4,000 hours) of directly related work experience.
    *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
  • One (1) year (2,000 hours) of directly work related experience.
