The Service Technical Writer - Standard Repair Times (SRT) will assist in the design and development of comprehensive and accurate Standard Repair Times (SRT) that meet the needs of CNHi's worldwide dealers and customers. Standard Repair Times are used to claim warranty reimbursement for labor and used by the dealer network for quotation of repair times. The SRT plays a crucial role is calculation of warranty and repair costs as well as market offerings like maintenance contracts.
The Service Technical Writer will use 3D modeling and hands-on repairs combined with knowledge of the repair process to determine the standard time required for workshop activities. This repair time data is created, organized, and published to be used by the dealer network and downstream systems. Additionally, the Service Technical Writer is a consultant to the warranty teams for repair process knowledge.
This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements - including a few days per week in our Racine, WI based office.
Responsibilities
- Develop SRT time sheets, organize data, and work within TIDB and SAP systems, using 3D modeling or hands on measurement to determine correct repair times.
- Time sheets are to be completed by dates given by the platforms to meet GPD requirements.
- Ensure time sheets meet requirements by complying with all current standards and company policies with respect to service and documentation. Create rolled up codes to enable dealers to enter their Warranty claims in an expedient fashion.
- Keep informed of product launch team objectives to assure individual assignments are aligned with product launch plans so SRT requirements are fulfilled.
- Work with Technical Authors and Parts Catalog team to align Service Manual procedures and Catalogs with the SRTs.
The salary for this position will fall between $62,000 and $90,000 annually.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Technology, Automotive, Agricultural or related field with at least three (3) years of experience / exposure to workshop methods and/or mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- High school diploma with at least five (5) years of experience / exposure to workshop methods and/or mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
The preferred candidate will possess:
- Strong computer navigation skills and comfort with different types of software/systems
- Understanding of the processes that service technicians use during their work
- Experience with heavy equipment / machinery
