Production Planner (Bilingual Korean-English)

Role and Responsibilities

  • Job Summary / Overview:

    Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a talented and motivated individual for the Product Operations Team. We are looking for a Korean speaking administrator to coordinate production plans and progress across multiple teams within SAS. The candidate will own coordination for mass production and NPI delivery schedules. The candidate will also own on time reticle delivery from our vendors to SAS. The candidate will serve as the primary resource to communicate, monitor, and improve on time delivery metrics.

    The candidate will use knowledge of proprietary Samsung scheduling and reporting systems as well as manufacturing knowledge to improve production progress communication. As a production planner, you will work closely with manufacturing operations, systems technology and engineering personnel to ensure alignment, drive projects, and support daily operations.

    Professionalism, good judgement, negotiation skills, ability to influence, teamwork, project management, and communication are essential to success.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Translate written and verbal information between Korean & English speaking stakeholders.
  • Hosts production progress conference calls Monday & Thursday (6pm - 7pm) with HQ.
  • Reports on overall status in relation to the production plan & product delivery.
  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing data to determine planning needs.
  • Participate in resolution of urgent production issues as they occur.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve daily operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing shift operations and follow-up on issues to resolution.
  • Identify areas of improvement within manufacturing and systems.
  • Maintains close contact with stake holders & vendors to ensure on time delivery.
  • Escalates any potential issues related to product delivery and works to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates daily factory needs with the GOC and take actions to meet daily customer shipment requirements.
  • Effectively communicate up, down and across the organization to align manufacturing, production planning, and engineering regarding product performance and supply forecasts.
  • Work days and hours: 1st Shift (M-F, 8 AM-5 PM)


Skills and Qualifications

  • Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required
    • Fluent in written & verbal Korean / English
    • 2-year minimum experience with demonstrated success in fast paced manufacturing environment.
    • Semiconductor manufacturing / Supply chain management experience preferred


    Additional Skills:
    • Skilled in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Quick leaner with the ability to handle multiple task simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges
    • Good communication skills with internal and external customers
    • Excellent organizational skills, ability to assess situations and set priorities
    • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
    • Able to work independently and within a team
    • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
    • 1-5 years' experience with Automated Manufacturing or Semiconductor FAB a plus
    • Experience with SQL, Spotfire, or other analytics tools a plus
    • Experience with collaborative & project tracking software (JIRA, Confluence) a plus
    • Project management experience a plus
    • Experience with Fab automation and reporting systems a plus
