Pre-Sales Oracle Solutions Architect -- US Remote

The Solution Architect, Rackspace Application Services (RAS) will serve as a thought leader and evangelist for the full RAS Portfolio, with specific emphasis on Oracle Applications and Technologies.
This is a solution pre-sales role that places significant emphasis on consultative engagements with a wide range of customer stakeholders; Application Users, Business Owners, Application Development, and Management teams.
Successful candidates will be adept at evangelizing the RAS value proposition - across Professional Services and Managed Services; aligning it to each unique set of customer challenges and articulating the business benefits that can be delivered.
A key aspect of the role is to engage with customers early in their transformation journey in order to establish Rackspace as a partner that can help assess, plan and execute the transformation or modernization of the required applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support for Rackspace Application Services with an emphasis on Oracle Applications and Technologies.
  • Support the continuous improvement of Rackspace Professional Services for Oracle by gathering deeper-level technical requirements during the sales process in order to define project scope, design the initial high-level solution architecture, and estimate the level of effort.
  • Design solution according to vendor and Rackspace best practices (Visio/Lucidchart Diagrams).
  • Assist in writing Proposals, Statements of Work, and RFPs.
  • Provide technical product expertise, advise on deployment architectures, handle in-depth technical questions, and overcome concerns with the goal to build long-term business relationships and become a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with Rackspace Business Development, product, and technical teams to maximize growth opportunities.
  • Articulate value proposition, present product information, and build value throughout the sales process to all departments of the customer's organization in support of the selection of Rackspace Application Services.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of product demonstrations when necessary.
  • Responsible for performing necessary research of third-party technologies, tools, and applications that are introduced during the pre-sales process.
  • Serve as a positive, dynamic leader that displays the best work ethic, creative problem-solving skills, positive attitude, and team-oriented proactive approach.
  • Provide feedback and align internal stakeholders to improve products and offerings.
  • Represent the company with the highest standards and preparation at assigned events or other forums.
  • Participate in planning and management meetings, projects or events as necessary.
  • Contribute to sales process improvement, including developing knowledge bases, creating sales tools and mentoring other Sales Engineers.
  • Achieve and maintain relevant certifications and necessary credentials. JOB REQUIREMENTSThe ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Oracle technology and product offerings and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches, and able to handle multiple projects. Additional qualifications are:
  • 7+ years of experience with technical implementations of customer projects and/or solution engineering with a proven track record in Oracle Applications and Technologies.
  • Expertise in Oracle applications including Oracle Cloud Applications, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), PeopleSoft, ATG, GRC, Apex, OID/OAM/SSO, VCP, OTM, OEM and commonly integrated third-party tools (Vertex, etc.).
  • Expertise in Oracle Database Technology including Clustering, DBaaS, Security, Replication, Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Expertise in Oracle VM.
  • Understanding of Oracle licensing (features, functionality, and design implications).
  • Ability to design customer solutions based on Oracle Technologies.
  • Private and Public Cloud experience with architecting, migrations, and ongoing Management
  • Must maintain a professional knowledge of and relationships within the Oracle ecosystem.
  • Oracle and other industry certifications are desired.
  • Public Cloud Oracle experience is a plus but not required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the entire Rackspace portfolio and act as a subject matter expert for a section of the portfolio (Rackspace Application Services).
  • Experience defining project scope, designing the initial high-level solution architecture, and estimating the level of effort.
  • Experience and ability to be client-facing as this person will interact with customers at all levels.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven extensive technical knowledge with the ability to quickly learn new concepts.
  • Ability to balance multiple opportunities simultaneously; workload will be a blend of small, medium, and large engagements.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage your time, and make judgments that are in the best interest of the client and Rackspace.
  • Ability to travel, range varies from 20% to 40%.
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management or equivalent field.
  • Candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.The following information is required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $117,900 -$188,500. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
