Industrial Automation (IIoT) Tech Expert & Site IT Champion

As an IIoT Technical Expert, you will Design, implement, and validate Ignition IIoT and SCADA systems and integrate third-party systems and data collection engines. You will employ your deep Ignition and Power Apps expertise to assure effective delivery of multiple IIoT and SCADA projects within the Honeywell IT Integrated Supply Chain Manufacturing service. You will be instrumental in building the IIoT CoE to be the best it can be while delivering factory and Business Unit objectives through improved efficiency and reduced conversion cost. You will provide leadership in the adoption of Digitization and Smart Factory standards and the ability to scale to factories across Honeywell.

As a Site IT Champion, you will be the Face of CORP IT at the site interfacing with Site leadership and their teams. The scope of work for site IT champion will be:
  • As an onsite IT Champion, you'll be part of Site weekly Staff meetings and in constant connection to strengthen the ISC - IT relationships
  • Enhance & Deliver IT Communications to the Site leadership and Train Site teams on IT Processes
  • Support in keeping Site IT related Documentation live
  • Problem solving with Triaging IT experts from various streams
  • Supporting IT initiatives/ programs targeted for the site

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work within our Manufacturing IT IIoT CoE team to design, implement, and validate Ignition SCADA Systems and third-party data collection engines.
  • Configure and test communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet, and MQTT.
  • Facilitate requirements for new and existing Ignition IIoT and SCADA systems.
  • Develop and implement new Ignition IIoT and SCADA capabilities, configure and develop SQL database queries and stored procedures, Vision & Perspective screens, scripts, low-code (e.g., Operator Cockpit) applications, and interfaces with other systems. Support transition of these to ongoing O&M support.
  • Provide support and enhancements of existing Ignition implementations.
  • Follow best practices and guidelines for developing intelligent UDTs for an Ignition system.
  • Participate and perform in Unit tests, UAT, and on-site commissioning with End Users
  • Document solutions and code developed within a project, managing versions and releases with Bitbucket. Support time and cost estimating and Agile MVP introduction.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively to teams on any concerns, problems, or technical discussions that impact the project.
  • Support peers and make the IIoT CoE the best it can be. Build trusted relationships with key stakeholder groups in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Data & Analytics
  • Work with Enterprise, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads on designs and implementation of the Ignition IIoT application stack, integrating OPC brokers, and connecting to and reading PLC tags.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 2+ years of experience working in developing and deploying Inductive Automation Ignition (IIoT)
  • 3+ years of experience with Python scripting
  • 5+ years of software engineering, IIoT, and/or manufacturing/supply chain IT experience
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

  • Inductive Automation Ignition 8.1 Core Certification and 8.1 Gold Certification
  • Significant experience in developing and deploying Inductive Automation Ignition IIoT and SCADA Systems
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related experience
  • Vision and Perspective User Interface development and configuration
  • Developing reports and configuring delivery methods
  • Configuring alarms to meet industry guidelines and corporate standards.
  • Microsoft Certified Power Platform App Maker (or Developer) Associate
  • Developing scripts using the Ignition API. Experience with ERP integration. Proven experience in developing scripts using Python.
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying SQL databases and developing stored procedures.
  • Are detail-oriented and results-driven with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes in Discrete and Process industries.
  • Proven ability to be a significant contributor on a team executing projects and achieving results. Mentor and share best practices with CoE peers, customer stakeholders, and support teams.
