The Digital Fulfillment IT Department has an opening for an IT Director, Fulfillment. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.

Position Purpose

Help to build Albertsons Digital Fulfillment platforms and deliver on a multi-year roadmap that delivers new and optimized fulfillment solutions. Albertson's Companies is looking for people who are interested in re-imagining the grocery experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies. The IT Director will work closely with Product, Agency, Business, UX, Data teams and more to define and govern the platform solution.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Take part in design and development of digital capabilities and business opportunities within IT Fulfillment to enable different ways of fulfillment of Online Grocery orders
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements, identifying solution gaps and available capabilities, and defining solutions to meet the business need.
  • Translates business domain understanding and context to technical capabilities for technical architects and development teams.
  • Defining data and integration architectures to support partnership with external vendor driven projects and own the detail integration patterns for integrating various Albertsons teams, APIs and data properties.
  • Work closely with a Product management, Architecture, Data Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Information Security groups to define and deliver the overall solution including contributing to roadmap of backlog of priorities.
  • Continuous partnership with cross functional teams, including vendor partners, to ensure all solutions are being developed with continuity of the enterprise solution ecosystem, while meeting all security, data governance, legal, risk and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with Enterprise & Data Architecture teams to shape EA guardrails, standards, and patterns.
  • Ensure quality guidelines and control process are created and implemented for the technology platforms and products working with engineering teams.
  • Well-organized, detail oriented, has great communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively within matrices, 'virtual' and flat environments.


Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and developing backend order management and fulfillment technology solutions / platforms.
  • Experience gained in a Senior Management role, leading, or mentoring small to medium teams, able to guide them, review their work, drive best practice.
  • Experience in ability to work on vaguely defined requirements and ability to create a roadmap for solution with very less direction and detail.
  • Experienced in delivering automation marketing projects, collaborating with distributed global teams in a matrix/flat organization and working alongside the project management.
  • Experienced in catalog systems, check out systems, fulfillment systems and other eCommerce offerings gained through both package and system implementations.
  • Experience with platforms using Microservices is a huge differentiator for this role as it requires clear understanding of how eCommerce works in Albertsons banners.
  • An excellent communicator - for building relationships, managing stakeholders, working with clients and delivery teams - both orally and written and for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Significant understanding of and experience in best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management.
  • Must have prior experience in building and defining solution requirements across Grocery eCommerce platforms including exposure to Instacart, Shipt and Google Shopping experiences
  • Excellent listening, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills: ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience of leading Order management and fulfillment engineering teams is a big plus.
