The Technology Department has an opening for an Enterprise Certification Manager. This position is located in Livermore, California.

Position Purpose

Albertsons Safeway is looking for a dynamic leader who is technical and understands the big picture. You will be working with a variety of product and project teams that are involved in deploying infrastructure and application solutions to our retail stores. The primary focus of the team that you will manage is to prevent any disruption to service within the retail environment. You and your team will have an opportunity to work with a very wide variety of technology areas to validate that they can be safely deployed. You will have an opportunity to leverage and extend the use of robotic test automation. We expect you to take pride in your work and enjoy finding defects and isolate issues. You have an opportunity to collaborate with a large team that spans many physical locations, including both onshore and offshore. We expect you to have a passion for quality and customer experience. You are also expected to be someone that communicates well with others and instills a sense of confidence and comfort in working with you and your team.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead a team that is responsible for the evaluation of applications within our retail environment through validation in our end-to-end enterprise certification test facilities.
  • Lead quality analysis and test plan validation across a wide variety of infrastructure and application domains
  • Work closely with the stakeholders to understand goals, requirements and the architecture of their projects.
  • Closely track the progress and results of the implementations within the Enterprise Certification facilities
  • Be an enabler to the deployment of quality implementations into our stores.
  • Lead a team of quality engineers that helps to ensure that all changes that enter our retail environment are thoroughly tested and ready for use in our stores.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of the projects and other changes that are planned for the stores to ensure that the eCert facilities and the team is ready to receive them.
  • Ensure that your team follows testing standards and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for risk and mitigation plans for quality deliverables.
  • Helps resolve issues/remove roadblocks for the product & project test teams and/or escalate accordingly.
  • Ensure that the team provides regular quality status updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the team tracks test case execution status and manages defects within Jira.


Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience
  • 5+ years of Retail / POS Systems testing experience is a MUST (Toshiba IBM 4690 experience preferred)
  • Experience with the Toshiba ACE POS, Omnico POS, and Infonet fuel controllers is essential.
  • Experience with test automation and robotics is a must.
  • Experience with authoring and executing test plans and test cases is a must.
  • Unix, MQ, web-based and Data migration testing experience is preferred.
  • Understands and uses testing methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle and development methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Experience with Jira for test case development/execution, and defect tracking
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Passion for quality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training and a strong aptitude for delivering quality.
  • Experience effectively leveraging tools such as Jira and Eggplant Test Automation Software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products
