Responsibilities
Packaging Engineer

Ensures and reports on the quality of processes related to packaging procedures and materials (returnable, re-label/re-bin,
and purchasing). Work is primarily achieved by an individual or through project teams; requiring application of expertise in professional area(s)
to achieve results. Progression within classification is reflected by increasing depth of professional knowledge, project
management, and ability to influence others.

Additional responsibilities are, but not limited to:

Maintains supplier handbook and ensures supplier operations guideline adhered to:
Works with suppliers and carriers on packaging deficiencies and issues appropriate penalties (QRRs).
Reviews, reports on and recommends improvements based on monthly transport data.
Negotiates and approved 3rd party packaging pricing and agreements.
Purchases receiving center and depot packaging materials.

Support packaging improvement projects (Packaging Claims)

Work with packaging suppliers on new technology, packaging types, etc.

Provide analysis for top customer drivers

Support interregional packaging improvements

Support rebranding initiative

Support overpack processes at NA depots (Transportation Claims)

Expansion of Distribution Center's LTL improvements

Support packaging Method projects for World Class Logistics Program

Expand best practices to NA depots

Provide succession plan for critical packaging manager (currently none identified)

Focus is to support the Receiving Materials Center activities and packaging processes

Other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications
Career-level (fully competent) experienced professional who carries out a full range of professional duties by working independently with minimal guidance.

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of principles and practices within a professional or technical discipline.
Uses internal best practices and working knowledge of external business issues to identify inefficiencies in existing approaches.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline preferred with 3 years of experience or a combination of education with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
