Electric Drivetrain System Engineer

Responsibilities
Technical position Responsible for the development and definition of electronic systems for electrified transmissions and delivery of formal Systems Requirements & Specifications. Responsible to define electronic functionalities securing feasibility, HW requirements (sensors, actuators, etc.), main SW requirements and system performances. Responsible for developing specification that describe the expected electrical/electronic functionalities of the electrified drivetrain, accountable for the requirements collection, specification definition, system design, FMEA support, diagnostics specification, support to simulation and validation execution.
  • Defines the functional requirements for electrified transmissions electronic control system.
  • Owns, manages, and releases electronic system requirements and specifications according to the V-model for development.
  • Supports electrical systems architecture definition for new hybrid drivetrain, taking into account expected performances perceived by the customers, as well as product offering and manufacturing feasibility/needs.
  • Supports safety assessment of controlled systems (in line with Homologation/Directives/Liability Laws)
  • Interfaces with other team members, work closely with Electrification Technology engineering team for HV/LV system for electrified transmissions.
  • Understands electrical system components and complexity (Sub-Assembly groups, BOM, standardization, optimization of options).
  • Owns, manages, and releases System Diagrams (graphical, textual, ULM) and Sensor map to correctly guide the development process
  • Defines System Validation Specifications and test plan definition
  • Secures standardization of Systems and Functions among different platforms
  • Supports activities with Purchasing and Suppliers in line with component development
  • Develops plans in line with GPD process (Priorities, milestones, prototype definition, etc.)
  • Embraces Innovation mindset, encourages new technology and is creative
  • Position pays $93,500 to $125,000


Qualifications
Qualified Candidate will have:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechatronic/Electronic Engineering or another related field
  • 3+ years experience in drivetrain control and software development or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in Electronic Systems development
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
