Data and information are the new currency and at Perficient and our Data Solutions team is growing! The Data Solutions Team has an opening for a Technical Architect - Data that can provide strategic implementation services to our clients. In this role you will have the opportunity architect, design, and lead projects which provide market leading data and analytic solutions. These solutions typically involve developing AI-infused streaming solutions, migrating clients to cloud-based data lakes and warehouses, and formulating lean/agile data governance initiatives.

Job Overview:

As a Data and Analytics Technical Architect, you will participate in all aspects of the Data Platform lifecycle [DLC] including Platform comparison. Data Governance, Data Driven Story telling (aka Analytics), Data Strategy, Data Quality, API Integration, and Big Data which includes project prioritization and estimation, data architecture, data governance process, and support of data drive business solutions development. As a member working in a team environment you will work with solution architects, analysts, business users, and developers on building a data strategy that will support short-term and long-term goals. This role is considered part of the Business Unit Leadership team and may mentor Junior Architects and /or development team members.

• Own and aggressively drive forward specific areas of technology architecture. Provide architectural solutions/designs to project execution teams for implementation
• Provide architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for one or more technology domains.
• Lead projects within architecture. Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features

• Provide technology architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for one or more technology domains.
• Work with application developers, users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future operational data analysis goals. Recommend modern technology stacks to meet those goals and help engineering teams migrate towards their use.
• Collaborate with the customer's operations and technology leadership on the future analytic goals of the organization, and design a technical architecture to meet those goals. Participate in configuring the architecture, and advise engineering teams on its efficient use.
• Lead a work stream or act as a team lead and manage non-complex components of the work plan/project.
• Utilize analytical, process, and/or technical skills to meet project objectives and deliverables that are self-directed and within project scope.
• Perform hands on technical tasks, including software development, troubleshooting, and support.

• Minimum 10 years of programming experience
• Client communication and technical leadership - should have led and architected Big Data Projects with extensive communication to senior leadership.
• Must have hands on experiece with Hadoop, Cloudera a+.
• Unix knowledge, SQL and Bash scripting is the primary scripting technology that is used. So this is must.
• Should be familiar with Java/Python - but this is a secondary skill
• Experience with BI Projects - Tableau nice to have
• At least 5 years of experience in technology consulting, enterprise and solutions architecture and architectural frameworks.
• Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural stand point.
• Experience in complete project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
• Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
• Must be open to travel in the future - up to 30% if needed.

Preferred Skills and Education:

• Experience working with a globally distributed team and managing off-shore teams.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
