The School of Engineering Technology at the University of Maine invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track position in the area of survey engineering to be filled at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate must develop and teach both traditional and online courses at all levels of the curriculum. Engineering technology faculty members clearly communicate with students the connections between principles and professional practice using written and verbal methods. The selected faculty member is expected to engage in scholarship, professional service and/or consulting; service to the discipline and the community, as well as professional society activities; ETAC/ABET accreditation efforts; recruitment; student advising; and university committees. The department encourages faculty members to pursue professional development opportunities. The candidate will contribute to the traditional in-person undergraduate degree, the online undergraduate degree, the online undergraduate certificate, and the two online graduate degree/certificate options. Current surveying student population includes 194 bachelor, 75 undergrad certificate, and 25 graduate students from 39 states and 5 countries.

The successful candidate must possess professional licensure as a land surveyor in the United States and have a master's (or higher) degree in a surveying engineering related discipline. Experience in surveying practice, surveying education, and/or online education are preferred.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, have performed effectively in collaborative team environments, and have experience working with diverse populations.
